Allan Eley suffers from Asthma and it motivates him to complete outstanding physical challenges and raise money for Asthma UK. Allan, a lift engineer for Stannah Lift Services branch in Birmingham, ran the 2009 London Marathon in 3 hrs 56mins 47secs and raised a splendid £1,500!

But that’s not enough for Allan…. In October it’s off to the Budapest or Dublin Marathon too. Of course, Allan has also entered for the 2010 London Marathon and already has the 2008 run tucked firmly under his belt, when he completed in 4 hrs 25 secs and raised £1,700 for his daughter’s primary school. In that same year he also won the North Staffordshire Road Runners League Group E by completing 20 races which were a mixture of 10k, 10 mile, 20 mile and half marathons.

Rumour has it that Allan may have other plans up his sleeve…. Anyone fancy a run from their Lift Services branch to another? Red pants and a hi-viz cape may be necessary – watch this space!!
