Stannah improves access at Easton College

Set in over two hundred and fifty hectares of idyllic countryside and farmland near Norwich, further education institution, Easton College, offers a wide variety of courses ranging from Agriculture and Equestrian to Sport and Recreation.

With a reputation to uphold as the second-largest provider of sports facilities in Norfolk, the college has recently added four new tennis courts to the present quartet, with the added bonus of a Stannah Midilift to help people with restricted mobility take full advantage of this first-class facility.

This vertical platform lift is ideal for improving access around public buildings for a whole range of people, from wheelchair-users to parents with buggies, baggage and children.  It features easy-to-use, constant-pressure buttons and joystick, slip-resistant floor and sensitive safety edge that will stop the lift automatically should an obstacle impede it.  Finished in white to complement the neutral décor, the lift operates within its own structure-supported enclosure and fully-glazed shaft, with a ramp to ease entry and exit.  Importantly, it also helps the premises’ owners meet the requirements of the DDA.

Site Services Manager, Simon Patteson, is convinced of the Midilift’s value: “The recent addition of four extra courts has greatly increased people-traffic and, obviously, there is a section of users that need help with pushchairs, kit, children etc. The Stannah Midilift is fulfilling a vital role in helping us keep our superb tennis facility available to everyone.”
