The South Midlands and Home Counties Branch of Stannah Lift Services, based in Brackley, were so surprised to learn of stairlift customer Nora Innes’s 101st birthday they decided to service her lift free of charge from now on.

Stannah service engineer Ashley Lough was delighted to give Nora’s stairlift its annual service and update the footrest too. 

Stannah Field Service Manager, Andy Kendrick, took the good news to Nora and comments:

‘It was a pleasure to call on Mrs Innes. She told me she was born in Leicestershire in 1908 (when average life expectancy was 47 years), has three children and four great-grandchildren and expressed her extreme gratitude for our gesture. It really sparked off thoughts about the huge changes she has seen in her lifetime – including the invention of a stairlift!’
