At Stannah Lift Services in Norwich we aim to provide complete solutions to your horizontal and vertical transportation needs. We provide nationwide sales, supply, installation and maintenance of escalators and moving walkways as Stannah Escalators and Moving Walkways UK division operates from the Norwich Branch and is managed by Ian Carter.
Our core business is the provision of lift services – that’s maintenance, repair and breakdown of all types of lifts from all manufacturers by our directly employed and highly experienced team of service engineers. We also provide bespoke lift modernisation and lift refurbishment services for major clients, often taking on the role of principal or sub-contractor to refurbish the general environment, the lift shaft and the motor room. We can provide special lifts for demanding situations, any size, travel and drive system. Our lift expertise really can provide you with your transportation solutions.
Our customers include rail operators, major retail chains, local authorities, housing associations, hotels, leisure operators and private stairlift owners.
About us
As part of a nationwide 24/7 service, we manage the safe and efficient operation of lifts, escalators and moving walkways in East Anglia. Our comprehensive service covers the main centres of Cambridge, Ipswich and Norwich.
We operate service, maintenance and repair contracts for all types of lift, including passenger lifts, platform lifts and goods lifts. Our services also include escalators and moving walkways, lift refurbishment and modernisations and stairlift installations.

Keith Peters – Branch Manager
Keith joined Stannah in 1993 as an Apprentice Fitter in London’s Crayford Branch, for domestic products such as stairlifts. In 1998 he moved to Dartford as an Apprentice in passenger lift engineering to complete his knowledge of lifts on the commercial market. In 2001 Keith moved to work as part of a three-man sales team with a responsibility for West London and Surrey. His outstanding success in the sales role at Dartford won him promotion to his current position as Branch Manager in 2008.
Mike Leveridge – Technical Sales Engineer
Mike looks after all the major lift refurbishment work undertaken by the Norwich Branch and is a very busy man! He joined Stannah in 1983 as an Apprentice, moved on to be a Service Engineer and then specialised in refurbishment work.
His experience in carrying out lift-modernisation work made him the natural candidate for his present sales role. If you need a completely new lift in an existing shaft, new lift car, upgrade of your drive system or maybe a change of a single function such as automatic doors, Mike can help.
Dave Swift – Technical Sales Engineer
Dave joined Stannah in 1989 and currently looks after contractual minor sales - renewals and new tenders. Working alongside Mike Leveridge, the pair keep the branch very busy.
Fiona Burt – Administrator
Fiona has worked for Stannah since 1997 and deals with industrial contracts. She keeps an eagle eye on the lifts that are under guarantee and maintains contracts from individual sites through Councils, ensuring their smooth running and continued customer satisfaction. Fiona's friendly demeanour means she has a great rapport with her customers and nothing is ever too much trouble.
Sue Stevens – Administrator
Sue joined Stannah in 2008 and works alongside Fiona dealing with the industrial contracts. She enjoys her job and gets on well with her colleagues and customers alike. Sue hopes to be looking after one of the major Councils in the very near future.
Diane Sillis – Administrator
Diane joined the East Anglia Branch of Stannah Lift Services in June 2007. Her main role is to assist the Sales Engineers in the preparation of quotations for repairs, and her daily duties include dealing with customer queries and ensuring that customers receive the highest level of customer service. Diane enjoys working as a team player within the administration department.
Mari Fielding – Administrator
Mari joined Stannah in 1994 on a YTS Scheme and since then she has gained her NVQ Levels 2 and 3 in both Business & Administration and Customer Service. Hers is the friendly voice for individual Stairlift customers and this, plus her extensive knowledge, helps maintain the high level of service that our customers have come to expect. Her duties include the creation, processing and amendment of new and existing service contracts, activating warranties on the system, and cancelling contracts that are no longer required. Mari is also responsible for the invoicing of major lift refurbishment work, resolving credit control queries and customer complaints.
Debbie Twite – Administrator
Debbie joined the administration team at Stannah in September 2008 and now works alongside Mari Fielding. She maintains Council and Housing Association contracts for stairlifts ensuring continued customer satisfaction. She also provides cover for Mari in her absence, and is always happy and willing to help customers and her colleagues.
Tony Purton – Field Service Manager
After a career in the RAF and eight years with Express Lifts, Tony joined Stannah in 1985 as a Supervisor. He currently manages a team of nine Engineers and shares three Apprentices with the Repair Supervisor. He ensures all the industrial maintenance and call-outs are completed efficiently and to the clients’ satisfaction. During his early years in the lift industry, Tony gained J5 and J25 lift engineering qualifications. He also has an IOSH Managing Safely Certificate.
Ray Thompson – Field Service Manager
Ray joined Stannah on Valentine’s Day in 1983 and has been in his present role since 1998. With a team of six Engineers, Ray looks after the efficient and safe operation of hundreds of domestic lifts for both Local Authority and individual owners. In addition to maintenance, Stannah recycle lifts for Local Authorities, storing and reconditioning or replacing lifts.
Ray has his NVQ Level 3 in Management and an ISOH Managing Safely Certificate.
Trevor Puttock – Field Repair Manager
Trevor has a team of three Stannah Engineers and also manages subcontracts when appropriate. He has been with Stannah since 1998 and in the lift industry since 1982. Trevor holds an NVQ Level 3 in Lift Engineering (gained since being with Stannah), Unit 9 distance learning in Health & Safety and Unit 1 in lift technology, and is currently completing the NVQ Level 4 Testers course.
Leigh Carey - Technical Sales Advisor
Leigh has been with Stannah since 2002. When he joined the company he was part-way through his HNC which Stannah encouraged him to complete by allowing him day release for a year. Leigh was promoted to his present role in August 2008.

Information for Lift Owners
As a lift owner/operator you are ultimately responsible for the safe operation of your lift. At Stannah Lift Services we aim to provide you with peace of mind by ensuring your equipment is maintained and adheres to all Health & Safety Directives and current legislation.
To help our customers, we have published a number of leaflets, available in our Download Centre, that detail lift owners’ responsibilities and give information and guidance on the latest legislation.
