At Stannah Lift Services in Mansfield we offer a complete maintenance, breakdown and repair service, based around a range of 3 maintenance contracts designed to suit your every need and budget. All our contracts include regular preventative maintenance visits where our engineers will inspect, clean, lubricate and adjust all lift components. Our emergency breakdown service offers peace of mind through the knowledge that Stannah are available 24 hours a day to put your lift, escalator or moving walkway back into service.
Large refurbishment and modernisation projects are also a major part of our portfolio. We are able to act as main or sub-contractors, supply bespoke lift products for low, medium and high-rise installations, always with health and safety as our first priority.
About us
As part of a nationwide 24/7 service, we manage the safe and efficient operation of lifts in the East Midlands. Our comprehensive service covers the main centres of Nottingham, Derby, Leicester, Sheffield and Lincoln.
We operate service, maintenance and repair contracts for all types of lift, including passenger lifts, platform lifts, and goods lifts. Our services also include escalators and moving walkways, lift refurbishment and modernisations and stairlift installations.

Andrew Potter – Branch Manager
Andrew has been with the Mansfield Branch of Stannah since 1993; as an Engineering Supervisor until 1999, and as Branch Manager until the present day.
Before joining Stannah, Andrew had already been in the lift industry for fifteen years, from Apprentice to Senior Lift Engineer. He has a wealth of qualifications including the EEF Lift Practice J5, J24 and J25 Certificates and a TEC Certificate in Electrical and Electronic Engineering. Andrew manages administration and field staff, plus he is responsible for Health, Safety, Environmental Impact, Customer Care and Engineering standards. Andrew has an NVQ Level 4 in Management, an IOSH Certificate to back-up his day-to-day activities, and is currently studying for a degree in Business Management.
Helen Millard – Office Manager
Helen joined Stannah in July 1997 as a Junior Administrator, was appointed the role of Supervisor in 2003, and is now an Office Manager. Helen has gained NVQ Level 3 in both Business Administration and Customer Care.
Steve Hull – Senior Technical Engineer
Steve joined the company in 2003, having previously gained twenty years’ experience within the industry in both technical and project management positions. He has extensive knowledge of the Lift Regulations, British/European Technical and Quality Standards. On leaving school, Steve completed a five-year apprenticeship at Rolls Royce Aero Engines before entering the lift industry, subsequently completing nine LEIA courses, further enhancing his design and manufacturing knowledge base. Steve is currently employed as a Technical Sales Advisor, communicating with major clients, assisting with major repair projects and offering management support to his Branch colleagues.
John Richardson – Sales Engineer
John joined Stannah in 1994 as a Lift Service Engineer but has worked in the lift industry since 1986. He took up his current sales position in November 2004. John has gained an NVQ Level 4 in Lift Commissioning and Testing, and has his ten-year Service Award from Stannah.
Iain Moore – Field Service Manager
Iain has an extensive career in the lift industry and has been with Stannah since 1991. His current job role is Engineering Supervisor for the lifts service department. Apprenticed, trained and with qualifications J5, J25 and NVQ Level 4 in Lift Commissioning and Testing, Iain carries out all commissioning tests for the Branch on the major lift refurbishment projects. He also has an NVQ Level 3 in Management. Day-to-day, he controls a team of Service Engineers answering contractual and technical queries and is also the Branch Health and Safety Co-ordinator.
Ian Webb – Field Repair Manager
Ian has been with Stannah since 2003 and is currently looking after three teams of Lift Repair Engineers. He carries EEF Lift Practice J5 and J25 Certificates, and has also completed nine LEIA courses in Engineering, Hydraulics and Electronics. He has now gained an IOSH Certificate.
Gary Sanderson – Sales Administrator
Gary joined Stannah in 2001. His role involves preparing quotations and sourcing suppliers for Stairlift repair and maintenance work. Gary has a GNVQ in Advanced IT which keeps him very busy supporting all the staff at Mansfield.
Philip Sewell – Fleet Administration
Now semi-retired and working part-time, Phillip joined Stannah in April 2001 and has worked in the lift industry for forty-four years. Phil deals with Branch fleet administration, safety documents and also document control.
David Turton – Sales Administrator
David started with Stannah in March 2006, bringing with him a background that includes a wealth of computer and office experience. David deals with quotations and suppliers on a day-to-day basis, working alongside Gary Sanderson in this busy department.
Andy Poynton – Stock Controller
Andy joined Stannah in 2000. He previously worked for the Royal Air Force as a Stores Manager and, at Stannah, is appropriately employed to manage Stock Control and Parts.
Sam Smith – Office Manager
Samantha started at Stannah in June 2005 and has been promoted to Team Leader. She is responsible for the day-to-day issues in the Branch and ensuring that all procedures are carried out on time. Samantha has an NVQ Level 2 in Team Leading, and has nearly completed an NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration.
Laura Clarke – Administrator
Laura has been with Stannah since May 1995 and deals with Bought Ledger and customer queries. As Laura has been with Stannah for a long time, she has gained considerable knowledge about the company’s products.
Helen Williams – Administrator
Helen joined Stannah in May 2006 and ably deals with servicing administration at the Branch. Having previously worked for a doctors’ surgery, she has gained a plenty of administration experience, and has nearly completed an NVQ Level 2 in Customer Care. Helen chose Stannah because of our excellent reputation for outstanding service and is happily maintaining this reputation at the East Midlands Branch.
Caroline Clarke – Administrator
Caroline joined Stannah in February 2008. Originally from America, she has now been settled in the UK since autumn 2007 and has married in this time. Dealing with the processing of invoices, Caroline also carries out all the access procedures and day-to-day administration in the Branch. She has nearly completed an NVQ Level 2 in Customer Care.

Information for Lift Owners
As a lift owner/operator you are ultimately responsible for the safe operation of your lift. At Stannah Lift Services we aim to provide you with peace of mind by ensuring your equipment is maintained and adheres to all Health & Safety Directives and current legislation.
