At Stannah Lift Services in Bristol we offer a complete maintenance, breakdown and repair service, based around a range of 3 maintenance contracts designed to suit your every need and budget. All our contracts include regular preventative maintenance visits where our engineers will inspect, clean, lubricate and adjust all lift components. Our emergency breakdown service offers peace of mind through the knowledge that Stannah are available 24 hours a day to put your lift, escalator or moving walkway back into service.
Large refurbishment projects are also part of our portfolio – the most recent project being 3 new lifts at Temple Meads Station in Bristol.
About us
As part of a nationwide 24/7 service, we manage the safe and efficient operation of lifts, escalators and moving walkways across the South of England and South Wales. Our comprehensive service covers the main centres of Bath, Bristol, Cardiff, Swansea, Exeter and Plymouth, and everywhere in between.
We operate service, maintenance and repair contracts for all types of lift, including passenger lifts, platform lifts and goods lifts. Our services also include escalators and moving walkways, lift refurbishment and modernisations, and stairlift installations.

Christine Channon – Office Manager
Christine joined the Bristol Electric Lifts Company (now Stannah) in 1975 as an Office Junior. Stannah took over in 1977. Promoted to Office Supervisor in 1998, Christine is married to Martyn and has two children.
Her brother Alan has also worked for Bristol Branch as an Engineer for 26 years.
Christine says she enjoys all aspects of her busy job dealing with customers and colleagues – which is probably why she has been with Stannah for over 30 years!
Martyn Channon - Field Repair Manager
Martyn joined Stannah in November 1966 as a Fitter's Mate. Manufactured and installed passenger and goods lifts. Worked as an Engineer out in the field until 1978 when he was promoted to Supervisor. Married to Chris, Bristol¹s Office Supervisor. Chris and Martyn have 70 years service between them for Stannah - that must be a record!
Mark Harding - Field Service Manager
Mark began his work with Stannah in April 1979 as a Lift Fitter¹s Mate. After 5/6 years he progressed to Service Engineer and in 2001 was promoted to his present role. Mark supervises 10 engineers working in Bristol and the surrounding areas.
Chris Sullock - Field Service Manager
Chris has over 30 years experience in the lift industry. Joined Stannah in July 1994 as a Service Engineer in the Wales area. Completed NVQ Level 3 in December 2003. Promoted to Engineering Supervisor in 2002. Responsible for 8 Service engineers covering lifts and stairlifts in Wales and SW.
Karl Hudson - Technical Sales Advisor
After completing his apprenticeship in 1979 in mechanical engineering , Karl has spent the majority of his working life in a factory environment in various roles including supervisory. Joined Stannah in August 2002 as a service engineer and completed his NVQ level 3 in 2004. Promoted to Technical Sales Advisor in September 2007, Karl say's that he has now found his true vocation. Lives in Somerset with his partner Sandra.
Django Rackham - Technical Sales Advisor
Django has been working in the engineering industry since leaving full time education in 1996. He joined Stannah in June 2001 as a trainee stairlift installer but after 3 months was transferred to be a repair engineer's mate. He worked on major and minor lift repairs for two and a half years and completed an NVQ level 3 in 2004 before becoming a service engineer. Django has been in his current role as Technical Sales Advisor Since October 2007 and is enjoying the challenge of his new position. He lives with his fiancee Kathryn in Bristol and is hoping to get married in the near future.
Lucy Channon - Technical Sales Clerk
Lucy has worked for Stannah Lift Services – Bristol Branch since 2006, originally joining the team as a Branch Administrator and progressing to her current role as Technical Sales Clerk.
Lucy has a varied role working as part of the Sales Team to deal with new contract leads and also working closely with the Administration Team dealing with day-to-day enquiries.
Marilyn Cannard - Administrator
After 25 years in Estate Agency Marilyn thought it was time for a change. She has now been working in the Bristol Service Branch for Stannah for three years and really enjoys it. Married to Gerr, with two children and two grandchildren, Marilyn is looking forward to celebrating a 40th Wedding Anniversary in 2009.
Clare Robbins - Administrator
Clare has worked for Stannah Lifts since 2001 and in that time completed her NVQ Level 2 in Customer Services and taken on the responsibility of being a First Aider for the Branch. Having previously worked in Retail, this was Clare’s first office- based job and she really enjoys her present role. Clare is currently still living at home with her family.
Lisa Crowley - Administrator
Lisa has worked for Stannah since 1989 . She has taken on various roles since joining the company and has enjoyed each one of them . Lisa has completed an NVQ LEVEL 3 in Customer Services. Lisa lives with her partner Nick and has taken on a part time position since the arrival of her two daughters, who are now 8 and 2 years old.
David Wiltshire - Storeman
David joined Stannah in 1999 as a Technical Clerk. His key task as Storeman is keep all the engineers stocked with spares and ship to off-site locations. David has a lifetime of experience in stock control/purchasing.

Information for Lift Owners
As a lift owner/operator you are ultimately responsible for the safe operation of your lift. At Stannah Lift Services we aim to provide you with peace of mind by ensuring your equipment is maintained and adheres to all Health & Safety Directives and current legislation.
To help our customers, we have published a number of leaflets, available in our Download Centre, that detail lift owners’ responsibilities and give information and guidance on the latest legislation.
