Stannah branch ready to abseil down the Bristol’s Children’s Hospital

The branch is sponsoring and getting ready for the big descent down Bristol’s Children’s Hospital on the 25th and 26th of September.

It's the first abseil event organised by Above & Beyond and is timed to Children’s Hospital platinum / 20th anniversary. The local Stannah South West England & South Wales Service Branch are getting involved, overcoming any fear of heights and helping to raise funds for Bristol’s NHS Hospitals.

Elaine Gibson, Philanthropy and Partnerships Manager at Above & Beyond, said: “Stannah’s support will make a huge difference and help us raise even more for Bristol city centre hospitals. I’d like to say a big thank you to the team there.

“The Big Bristol Abseil is a great opportunity if you’re looking to conquer your acrophobia, wanting to raise money for Bristol's hospitals, or just looking for a fun thing to do with friends and colleagues in the name of a good cause.”

A brave few of South West England & South Wales Service Branch and other supporters will be scaling down the iconic Bristol Royal Hospital for Children.

Service Branch Manager Dan White and his team are excited to take part in this great cause, “We are looking forward to joining with other Above & Beyond participants, on a cause that’s dear to our heart. It’s our way of saying thank you to everyone working for our NHS; they all have been working really hard over the last few months.”

Above & Beyond is a local charity in Bristol that raises money for the city’s hospitals, including University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust (UHBW) and the Children’s Hospital.

The charity funds projects in addition to what the NHS can contribute. Those funds go towards replacing critical equipment, building world-class facilities, and supporting NHS staff training and development.
