Case Study: Playing pack horse in top toy store
Muscling up all over the UK, Goodsmaster goods lifts have gone into multiple branches of The Entertainer, from Didcot, Lancaster and Newport (Isle of Wight) to Rugby, Cardiff, Chester, Sunderland and Bexleyheath – with another to come in 2013 in Witney, Oxfordshire.
The bespoke, hydraulic-drive Goodsmaster 500kg goods lift recently installed in the Bexleyheath outlet demonstrates Stannah’s design flexibility. Built to the store’s specifications with exterior doors and fascia finished in The Entertainer’s signature royal blue, it moves loads of up to 500kg between the ground-floor retail area and first-floor storage.
The lift car is constructed from mild steel sheeting, with a tough, half height, aluminium chequer plate finish to the walls and floor.Fully automatic push-button controls, with call and despatch facilities, are located at each landing, together with ‘lift arrival’ and ‘lift occupied’ indicators and an audible lift arrival buzzer.
Supplied in a structure-supported frame which does not need load-bearing shaft walls, the bespoke Stannah Goodsmaster 500kg goods lift required no more than a solid flat base, support at each floor and at the top, and a pre-formed lift shaft by the builder.
Gary and Catherine Grant, The Entertainer owners, comment:
“Business is booming in all branches of The Entertainer and keeping the shelves stocked is obviously a priority. The bespoke Stannah Goodsmaster 500kg goods lift in our Bexleyheath branch helps us achieve this. As an added bonus, the Stannah team tailored the lift in keeping with our branding which reinforces our market presence.”
